Nothing wrong with me
No recent SCP has enchanted me like SCP-4723 and yet there's NO art of it
Me reviewing the footage of the bank during the hours when I was a teller knowing I'm about to get swamped by the fucking Men in Black
[ID: A screenshot from the SCP website that reads, “Description: SCP-4723 is the designation for six domesticated Felis catus housepets. When directly viewed by any human being, the SCP-4723 instances will appear to be human males in business suits. However, this effect is not present with 64-year-old Marianne Baker (designated SCP-4723-A), the owner of the SCP-4723 instances. The SCP-4723 instances refer to themselves as humans and identify themselves by name; they also have refused to speak to Foundation personnel, claiming "Ma Baker didn't raise us to be snitches." Through cross-testing with SCP-4723-A and monitored conversations between the SCP-4723 instances, an identity chart has been compiled between breed and identified names.” Below, there is a chart with columns for “Designation” “Breed,” and “Identifies as.”
Row 1: 4721-1, Persian Longhair, Lawrence Nimitz
Row 2: 4723-2, Russian Blue, Alexei Tzyosorov
Row 3: 4723-3, Somali Cat, Jim Scott
Row 4: 4723-4, American Wirehair, Harry Coydell
Row 5: 4723-5, Turkish Van, David Gafver
Row 6: 4723-6, Siamese Cat, Adlai Williams
The text continues, “Item History: SCP-4723 was discovered on 3/28/2019 when the instances robbed the Nash County Bank. According to eyewitness testimony, the instances arrived - armed with compact handguns and explosives - and proceeded to threaten the employees into handing them the bank's money reserves. A bank guard fired his weapon at the instances, and despite multiple witness accounts that he was aiming directly at the group, all of his shots hit the wall behind them. He then attempted to jump and tackle one of the instances, which resulted in him phasing through the illusion and knocking himself out. This phasing was witnessed again after one of the instances walked under a waist-high swing door. After coercing the bank manager to open the vault, the instances proceeded to place approximately $570,000 in several burlap bags and left, leaving behind their weapons and a "calling card" at the scene. The card has been transcribed below for access.

After investigators reviewed the security cameras and discovered footage of housecats with handguns in their mouths in contrast to the witness reports, the Foundation was notified. Through bill number tracing and CC footage of other neighboring stores, SCP-4723 was traced to the residence of SCP-4723-A - a known film collector and former convict - on 4/4. During the subsequent Foundation apprehension, the anomalous properties of the SCP-4723 instances were discovered.”
The next image is of an emoji face sitting behind a computer, staring at the screen with bloodshot eyes and a shocked expression on its face.
The final image is a photoshopped picture of the six cats listed above, all holding handguns in their mouths. The top and bottom text reads, “Me and the boys / Getting ready to rob a bank.” End ID.]
Silently, he pulled down the shade against the shadow/Lost in the doorstep of the empty house/I'm trying to find my way home/And I'm sorry And I miss you
"Absolutely insane song about irreversibly changing and being unable to reach the past you were forced to leave behind. the haunting instrumentals. the story being told by the lyrics and the incredibly intense delivery. the guitar crescendo and screaming at the end. According to the band's drummer the lead singer was dripping sweat when they finished recording and you *feel* it. impossible to explain honestly just trust me"
I miss the days when stars were saintly/They sang to me in ways innately/Before we enslaved the symphony/To playing anthems for selling things/I used to wonder, wander farther/Into awe, but those days were squandered/My ghost was lost to the grownup gallows/So I find my spirit in the bottle
"ITS A SONG ABOUT GROWING UP. ITS A SONG ABOUT LOSS OF INNOCENCE AND MYSTIQUE. Also the wordplay and imagery is absolutely incredible."

slintsweep slintsweep pleaseeee like the whole album is an entire fuck you up rollercoaster ngl tho its funny how both songs on this poll are about growing up/loss of innocence. heh. like i think its important to say that the lyrics were about the singers younger brother and the pain and saudade of leaving his brother behind and not being there for him when he moved out (feeling further exacerbated by his existential crisis after almost getting dying in a car accident) ok thats enough rambling you anyways polls

this one of those pieces where I look at it and think “oh that’s funny, i’ll reblog,” and then look at the art medium and lose my mind
lol you're only learning japanese because you like anime, you're only interested in history because you like the anime girl king king arthur series, you're only broadening your horizons and becoming a more learned and fulfilled person because your sincere enjoyment of something not considered intellectual enough to be worthy of recognition provided you with a small window into a few of the many wonders of culture and knowledge the world has to offer and you want to obtain a deeper understanding of them
“When my nineteen-year-old son turns on the kitchen tap and leans down over the sink and tilts his head sideways to drink directly from the stream of cool water, I think of my older brother, now almost ten years gone, who used to do the same thing at that age; And when he lifts his head back up and, satisfied, wipes the water dripping from his cheek with his shirtsleeve, it’s the same casual gesture my brother used to make; and I don’t tell him to use a glass, the way our father told my brother, because I like remembering my brother when he was young, decades before anything went wrong, and I like the way my son becomes a little more my brother for a moment through this small habit born of a simple need, which, natural and unprompted, ties them together across the bounds of death, and across time … as if the clear stream flowed between two worlds and entered this one through the kitchen faucet, my son and brother drinking the same water.”
